Energy Savings News You Can Use

You have the power to reduce our carbon footprint!!

Listed Below are ten ways you can reduce energy consumption:

  1. Lighting - Turn it Off!!
  2. Leaky Faucets, showers or running toilets - Call Facilities. A leak can waste up to 25,000 gallons per month.
  3. Showers -Get in, Get out. An extra 2 minutes uses 5 gallons of water.
  4. Laundry Try washing your clothes in cold water. This will conserve 80% of energy per load.
  5. Temperature -Try monitoring your room closely. This will elimainate the use of not need heat and A/C
  6. Electronics -Turn off your computer, unplug chargers,etc.
  7. Energy Star -When purchasing new electronics, ensure they are Energy Star rated.
  8. Computers -Turning your computer to sleep mode will save 70% energy. E-mail your papers to your teachers.Turn off energy wasting screen savers.
  9. Cars - Are a majoe contributor to the carbon footprint.Try walkiing or riding a bike. Take the bus. Buy a Hybrid
  10. Listen to your mom - -Turn off the lights, draw the curtains, close the fridge, turn off the T.V. etc..
